Global company to locate second U.S. plant in Johnson City

An international manufacturing company has tapped Johnson City for its second location in the United States, bringing as many as 50 jobs and a $6.9 million investment to space formerly occupied by another German company on Wesinpar Drive.
PVS Plastics Technology Corp. plans a five-year development of a vacant 54,000-square-foot building off West Market Street that previously served as a temporary manufacturing facility for Ebm-papst while that German fan manufacturing company constructed its 175,000-square-foot plant in the Washington County Industrial Park.
A Japanese commercial vehicle manufacturer has revealed big plans for the Upstate. Isuzu North America Corp., a supplier of commercial vehicles, has selected Greenville County to establish the company’s new production base in the United States, according to a news release. Air Canada has selected Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner as part of an ongoing effort to modernize and grow its fleet with an order for 18 new jets and an option to purchase 12 more.
