Global company to locate second U.S. plant in Johnson City

An international manufacturing company has tapped Johnson City for its second location in the United States, bringing as many as 50 jobs and a $6.9 million investment to space formerly occupied by another German company on Wesinpar Drive.
PVS Plastics Technology Corp. plans a five-year development of a vacant 54,000-square-foot building off West Market Street that previously served as a temporary manufacturing facility for Ebm-papst while that German fan manufacturing company constructed its 175,000-square-foot plant in the Washington County Industrial Park.
Scout Motors is putting another huge stake in the ground in the Midlands. The automaker is making an additional investment of $300 million in South Carolina to build a Supplier Park on the site of its Production Center in Blythewood, according to a news release. Click Here for Full Article .
More than 3,400 new and returning students began moving into East Tennessee State University campus housing this week for the fall semester, university officials said. According to ETSU’s website, the university started moving new incoming students into residence halls on Wednesday, followed by returning students on Thursday and Friday.
